Thanksgiving is upon us and although our table may be a bit more intimate this year, you can still raise a glass of thanks to all those near and far. Here are a few menu ideas to start your meal planning.
And if you can’t be together with those you love, you can always send wine! Boatique Winery ships within California, Minnesota, District of Columbia, Florida, Oregon and Texas.
Bubbles Blanc de Blanc
Welcome drinks should be festive yet comforting, and what better way to say “hello” than with bubbles?
Menu Ideas: Crab cakes (crab season starts November 7th), oysters on the half shell with mignonette, tempura fried shrimp, fried calamari, triple cream brie, gougeres (small cheesy cream puffs available from local baker Playflight Bakery!) and even fried chicken wings. Santé!
2019 Sauvignon Blanc
A lovely balanced and structured wine to kick off the feast.
Menu Ideas: Goat cheese and lightly dressed arugula salad, herbed chicken skewers, or faro and radish salad.
Interested in adding a little Italian flair to your Thanksgiving? Try a pea, pancetta and pesto pasta.
2017 Petite Sirah
Whether your turkey is grilled, smoked, roasted, or served with a mole sauce – this is the perfect wine.
Side Dish Suggestions: Potato and leek gratin, a wild mushroom and sausage stuffing, roasted green beans with tomatoes, or tangy macaroni salad. Don’t forget to save some turkey for making chili the next day – another perfect pairing with Petite Sirah.
Pair with Sweets
So many desserts, so little room in the belly.
Blanc de Blanc Bubbles: Light and fresh Meyer Lemon Cheesecake – it is Meyer Lemon season after all!
Sauvignon Blanc: Sweet Potato Pie, a Thanksgiving classic
Petite Sirah: For the chocolate lovers: Bourbon Bacon Brownies or Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse
All of our wines pair nicely with the following cheeses. If you’d like to play with your food and wine, we suggest these specific pairings.
Blanc de Blanc Bubbles: Triple Cream Brie
Sauvignon Blanc: Goat cheese Petite Sirah: Gouda, manchego, swiss and pecorino
